The Nelson Market takes over Montgomery Square every Saturday morning, with two hundred or so stalls covering local produce, baked goods, crafts, plants, and a row of food trucks. It is the main weekly gathering for the town and the region's growers and makers, and worth timing a visit around if you can.
Wednesday hosts a smaller midweek market on the same site. Both have a strong food bias — Nelson's climate and the surrounding orchards and market gardens supply the bulk of stallholders, and the bread, cheese, and stone-fruit in summer are particularly good.
