Wings over Wairarapa is the region's major airshow, held at Hood Aerodrome near Masterton. It brings together historic aircraft, aerobatics, military displays, and aviation heritage in a landscape where big skies and open farmland make the flying feel close and dramatic.
The event is not permanent, so it belongs in an itinerary only if dates line up. When it is on, however, it is one of Masterton's strongest visitor events and a natural complement to the town's broader rural-show culture, from Golden Shears to regional fairs.
