Jukhtak Vank Monastery

Jukhtak Vank is a small medieval monastery set in forest about 2 kilometres from Dilijan, reached by a trail that climbs gently through mixed woodland. The monastery dates from the 13th century and consists of a single church and a gavit (portico) in varying states of preservation. What makes the visit worthwhile is not the architecture — modest by Armenian standards — but the setting: the forest is dense and quiet, the trail is well-maintained, and the approach gives a better sense of the forested landscape that surrounds Dilijan than any of the easier roadside viewpoints.

The round trip from the trailhead takes 1–2 hours. It is a straightforward walk suitable for anyone reasonably fit; the path is clear and well-marked.
