The Molokan villages around Dilijan add an unexpected cultural layer to northern Armenia. These Russian spiritual Christian communities settled in the region in the nineteenth century, and villages such as Fioletovo still feel distinct in language, foodways, and religious memory.
This is a sensitive cultural visit, not a theme attraction. Go with a local guide or host if possible, ask before photographing people, and approach the villages as living communities rather than preserved curiosities.
