The largest surviving historic arsenal in the world, with over 32,000 items — helmets, breastplates, muskets, pikes, and edged weapons dating from 1450 to 1850. Built in the 17th century to arm Styria against Ottoman invasion, it was never dismantled when the threat passed. The result is a four-storey room packed floor-to-ceiling with weapons, organized by type, in the exact configuration intended for rapid equipping of troops. There is nothing else quite like it.
Herrengasse 16. Open Tue–Sun 10am–5pm.
