The Dom occupies the heart of the old town, fronting two large interlinked squares with its twin-towered marble facade. Inside, the cool grey-and-white interior is restrained Italianate baroque on a vast scale, with a 71-metre dome and five organs that are still played together for big festival masses.
The 11th-century bronze font, in which Mozart was baptised, sits in the south aisle. Allow a quiet half hour after the tour groups pass through; the building is best when nearly empty.
