A sprawling complex of nine eating and drinking spaces around an old courtyard off Getreidegasse: a beer hall, a steakhouse, a pizzeria, a sushi bar, and an Austrian Wirtshaus, all sharing one kitchen network. It is touristy but unusually well-run.
For Salzburger Nockerln — the great fluffy egg-and-sugar dessert shaped like the city's three hills — the Sternbräu does one of the better versions in town and serves them all day. Reservations advisable in season.
