Stift Gleink

The former Benedictine abbey of Gleink, on a low ridge north of Steyr, was founded in 1125 and like Garsten dissolved by Joseph II. The Romanesque-Gothic core survived later Baroque remodelling; the abbey church is open for visits, and the conventual buildings are now a school.

The site is quieter and less staged than Garsten. The graveyard, a few medieval grave-slabs, and the view across the Enns valley reward a short detour.
