For years this Burggasse spot was "das möbel," a café where every chair and table was a one-off designed by a local maker and quietly for sale. The furniture business has since moved on and the space is now simply das café, but the idea survives: a relaxed, design-minded coffeehouse furnished in an ever-changing jumble of pieces.
It is open from morning until late, good for a coffee and cake, a light meal or an evening drink, with free wifi and a laid-back, laptop-friendly crowd. A characteristic slice of Neubau's creative streak, on the edge of Spittelberg.
