The compact old town climbs the slope behind the beach in a tangle of narrow stone streets, with whitewashed houses and the occasional shaded courtyard. The Church of the Holy Trinity (Sveta Trojica), the main parish church, sits at the upper end and is open most mornings; it has a baroque interior and a small treasury.
Wander up Palada or Zarok streets in the late afternoon when the worst of the heat has dropped and the shops reopen. The mix of old fishermen's cottages and small konobas makes this the most pleasant part of Baška for an evening stroll, away from the holiday crowds along the beachfront.
