Klek

Tiny Adriatic fishing village in a sheltered cove near the Neum corridor between Split and Dubrovnik.

Klek is a tiny coastal village tucked into a sheltered cove on the Adriatic, roughly halfway between Split and Dubrovnik. It sits right on the Neum corridor — the short stretch of Bosnian coastline that splits Croatia's coast in two — so you'll likely pass through a border crossing to get here.

The village has a quiet, unhurried feel with around 200 residents who live from fishing, olive growing, and summer tourism. The cove offers calm, shallow water good for swimming, and the surrounding hills are covered in Mediterranean scrub and pine. It's the kind of place where you come to do very little, and that's the whole point.

Things to Do

Klek is the kind of place where doing very little is the whole point. The sheltered cove, the limestone hills behind, and the long peninsula that gives the village its name make up the natural draw. Most visitors spend their days swimming, walking the coast path, or boating out into the Bay of Mali Ston for fresh oysters and mussels.
