Konoba Tragos

Konoba Tragos is one of the better-regarded restaurants in Trogir's old town, with tables in a stone-vaulted interior and a menu that takes Dalmatian seafood cooking seriously. The fish is bought fresh from local fishermen each morning and the menu changes accordingly. Grilled bream, sea bass, and dentex are handled simply — olive oil, lemon, a few capers — in the way that the Adriatic tradition recommends.

The peka dishes (lamb or octopus slow-cooked under a bell lid over embers) need to be ordered a day in advance and are worth the planning. The wine list is strong on Plavac Mali from the Pelješac peninsula and Pošip from Korčula, both within easy reach by ferry.
