Inside the old engineering workshops of Lower Vítkovice, U6 is a hands-on science centre aimed at children and inquisitive adults. The exhibits run the gamut from gear trains and steam engines (still working, still loud) to electromagnetism and a giant tesla coil that fires sparks across the hall on the hour.
The setting — bare brick walls, exposed crane gantries, the original cobbled floor — is half the point: U6 is a science museum housed in the kind of building it explains. Combine with the Bolt Tower for a full half-day at Vítkovice.
