Child Jesus of Prague

The Child Jesus of Prague is a small wax-covered wooden statue in the Church of Our Lady Victorious in Mala Strana, but its devotional reach is enormous. The image was brought from Spain in the sixteenth century and given to the Carmelites in 1628, and it remains one of Prague's important Catholic pilgrimage stops.

The church is free to enter. Even if you are not religious, the stop is worthwhile for the mix of Baroque church setting, living devotion, and a cult image that travelled far beyond Prague.
