The hotel bars in town (Hotel Propellen at Nordmarksvej, Hotel Svanen nearby) are the main options for a drink outside the parks. Jelling Kro, in Jelling village 15km north (a worth visiting for the UNESCO rune stones), is a pleasant old Danish inn good for a meal and a drink. Vejle (30km) has a livelier bar and café scene, including a café in a converted prison building with occasional live music.
