Odense City Hall

Italianate redbrick town hall on the central Flakhaven square

Odense Rådhus, completed in 1883 and extended in 1955, is the city's town hall — a redbrick neo-Renaissance building on the central square Flakhaven, opposite the cathedral. The 1880s wing is the more eye-catching, with arched windows, a clock tower, and a sgraffito frieze. The 1950s extension is plainer but well integrated.

The interior — open during office hours — has a ceremonial council chamber and several murals depicting scenes from Odense history. Outside, the square is often the setting for weekly markets and seasonal festivals.
