Ribe packs a surprising amount of history into a small medieval centre. The Viking museums, the cathedral tower with its Wadden Sea views, and the evening night watchman tour are the highlights — but simply wandering the cobblestone streets is rewarding in itself. Outside town, the tidal flats of the Wadden Sea and the starling murmurations at dusk are natural spectacles worth timing a visit around.
