St. Catherine's Church adds an Orthodox note to Pärnu's small old centre. Built in the eighteenth century, it reflects the Russian imperial layer of the city, when Pärnu was both a provincial town and a place of strategic coastal interest.
The church is modest but atmospheric, with the iconostasis and domes providing a contrast to nearby Lutheran and civic buildings. It is a quick stop, best combined with the town hall and Pärnu Museum.
