Tórshavn's nightlife is concentrated around the harbour and Vaglið. By Faroese standards it can be lively — by international standards it remains small-town. Friday and Saturday nights are when the locals come out; mid-week is very quiet.
Faroese beer (Föroya Bjór, brewed in Klaksvík) is widely available and good. Wine and spirits are expensive due to the state alcohol monopoly Rúsdrekkasøla.
