Getting There

Biarritz has its own airport, Biarritz Pays Basque Airport (BIQ), about 3 kilometres from the city centre, with direct flights from Paris (Air France, 1 hour 30 min) and several other European cities in summer. Easyjet and Ryanair operate budget routes from the UK.

By train, the nearest mainline station is Bayonne, 10 kilometres north, on the Paris–Madrid high-speed line. TGV services reach Paris Montparnasse in about 5 hours. A local train connects Bayonne station to Biarritz station, or it is a short taxi. From Bayonne you can also reach San Sebastián in Spain in about 1 hour by road, with cross-border bus services running regularly.

By car from Paris is about 7–8 hours on the A10 and A63 motorways. The toll roads are fast but not cheap. From Bordeaux, Biarritz is about 2 hours south.
