The port area is the centre of Argelès-sur-Mer's drinking scene, with terrace bars overlooking the boats. In summer, the beachfront bars along Argelès Plage stay open late and the whole strip comes alive after dark. The old village is much quieter — a few cafes on the square but little nightlife beyond that.
