Cafe culture in Freudenstadt is concentrated under the Marktplatz arcades. Several small bakery-cafes serve coffee, Black Forest cake, and apple strudel from morning to early evening. Beyond the centre, nightlife is limited — locals mostly drink in the restaurants — but the Diskothek Martinique on the eastern edge of town runs an improbable 1970s disco on weekends.
