Bayreuth's Court Garden, or Hofgarten, spreads behind the New Palace as a formal green space of avenues, lawns, water, and sculpture. It is less theatrical than the Hermitage, but much easier to fold into a central Bayreuth walk.
The garden is best used as a pause between the Margravial Opera House, the palace quarter, and the old town. It gives a sense of Bayreuth's courtly scale without requiring a special excursion, and in warm weather locals use it exactly as visitors should: slowly.
