Sitia Town Beach

Sitia's town beach is a long stretch of mixed sand and shingle running east from the harbour for nearly a kilometre, with calm sheltered water and a row of sunbeds and tavernas behind. It is not the prettiest beach in eastern Crete but it is right there, walkable from the centre, and almost empty outside July and August.

The water shelves gently and is good for families. Showers and toilets are available. For something wilder, the smaller beaches at Marina and Petras to the south are quieter and less developed.
