Bars and Cafes

Kalambaka has a modest but functional range of cafes and bars concentrated around the main square and the pedestrian street running beneath the rocks. The action is quiet by Greek island standards but lively enough in summer, when the outdoor tables fill with hikers and monastery-goers comparing notes. Most places stay open late; Greeks eat dinner after 9pm and the cafes follow suit.
