A Mykonos institution since 1978, the Skandinavian Bar is one of the island's longest-running nightlife spots. Located in the heart of Chora, it fills from midnight onward with a mixed international crowd and plays commercial dance music at a volume that precludes conversation. It is not the most sophisticated spot on the island — that is not the point — but it has an energy that is reliably good and has outlasted dozens of trendier competitors. The outdoor terrace is useful for those who want to be adjacent to the party without being fully inside it.
