The south coast has the best-known beaches, sheltered from the northern meltemi wind that can make the north side rough. Paradise and Super Paradise are the party beaches; Paraga and Agrari are quieter. On the north side, Agios Stefanos is calm and family-friendly, and Panormos is one of the island's most beautiful — less developed and worth the drive.
