Mykonos is one of the best shopping islands in Greece. Matogianni Street in Chora is the main drag, lined with boutiques selling linen clothing, leather sandals, and jewellery — both international luxury brands and locally designed pieces. The alleyways off Matogianni reward exploring; smaller shops sell ceramics, icons, and handmade goods at less stratospheric prices.
The local sandal-making tradition is still alive — a few workshops still cut and stitch leather sandals to order. Candle making is another traditional craft associated with the island.
