Mykonos Airport (JMK) is 4 km from town and handles direct international flights from most European capitals from April through October. In summer, flights from Athens take 45 minutes; there are usually several daily departures. Outside peak season, connections through Athens are the norm.
By sea, high-speed ferries from Piraeus (Athens port) take 3.5–5 hours depending on the service. Slower conventional ferries take 5–7 hours. There are also frequent connections to Santorini, Paros, Naxos, and Syros. During summer, booking ferry tickets in advance is strongly recommended.
