Gyrismata Beach is a long, open stretch of sand on Skyros, close enough to be easy but broad enough to feel less cramped than the island's busiest swimming spots. The beach has a practical, unfussy appeal: space, clear water, and a good horizon.
Wind can change the mood quickly, so check conditions before settling in for the day. When the sea is calm, it is one of the better places on Skyros for a straightforward swim-and-linger afternoon.
