Paradise Beach

A more secluded cove on the east coast, accessible by small boat from Golden Beach or by a path over the headland — a walk of about 30 minutes that is steep in places but well worth it. The sand here is finer than its neighbour, the cove is sheltered, and the crowds are noticeably thinner. In high summer it is not entirely empty, but it retains a sense of escape that Golden Beach, with its road access and sunbed rows, cannot quite manage.

The boat trip from Golden Beach takes about ten minutes and runs frequently through summer — it is the easiest option and lets you combine both beaches in a day. Bring food and water if you are staying for any length of time, as the facilities are minimal. The name is a marketing invention, but the beach itself lives up to a generous reading of it.
