Helikon Park is Keszthely's biggest green space, a broad lakeside park that gives the town some breathing room away from the palace and beach crowds. Its landmark is the Helikon Monument, built to commemorate the literary Helikon Festivals held here in the early 19th century.
The park is best treated as part of a relaxed walk between the centre and the Balaton shore. It is not spectacular, but it is a pleasant place to pause on a hot afternoon.
