Keszthely Synagogue

The Keszthely Synagogue stands close to the town centre, a reminder of the Jewish community that helped shape western Hungary's commercial towns before the Second World War. It is a restrained building from the outside, set among ordinary streets rather than presented as a grand monument.

Its value is partly historical: Keszthely's Jewish population was deported during the Holocaust, and the synagogue now carries the weight of that absence. Check locally before planning a visit inside, as opening hours can be limited and irregular.
