When the Teeling Whiskey Distillery opened in the Liberties in 2015 it was the first new distillery to operate in Dublin in 125 years, reviving an industry that once made the city the whiskey capital of the world. Its three gleaming copper pot stills, named Alison, Natalie, and Rebecca after the founders' daughters, can be seen up close on the guided tour, which ends with a tasting.
The distillery sits at the heart of the old Golden Triangle of Dublin whiskey-making in Newmarket, and its smart visitor centre and bar have helped anchor the Liberties' reinvention as a whiskey-tourism quarter. Tours run throughout the day; book ahead at busy times.
