The pedestrianised seafront walk runs from the cruise terminal south past Fort Michelangelo and on toward the marina — about a kilometre of palm-shaded promenade with benches, cafes, and a string of monuments (the Embracing Peace statue, Hasekura, a Garibaldi monument, the war memorial). It is the easiest way to fill a couple of hours between transport connections, and it is genuinely pleasant at sunset.
The southern end has fewer crowds and better light; the northern end (by the cruise terminal) has more cafes and more tour groups. Free, open 24 hours.
