Arnasco is a small village on the right side of the Neva valley, in the hills behind Albenga on the Ligurian coast. It is an agricultural settlement surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, with a quiet, rural character.
The Palazzo Cazzulini at Villa Bezzo dates from the thirteenth to fourteenth century, though it has been altered over the years. In the hamlet of Chiesa, halfway up the valley side, stand the ruins of a medieval castle belonging to the Del Carretto family, one of the powerful feudal clans that once controlled much of this part of Liguria.
Arnasco is not a destination in itself, but if you are driving through the Neva valley between Albenga and the inland hills, the olive groves and stone houses make for pleasant scenery.
