The old city is best explored on foot — cars can't fit in the caruggi anyway. AMT buses cover the broader city well; a single ticket is valid for 90 minutes including metro transfers. The metro has one line connecting Brin to Brignole station, useful for getting across town quickly. A funicular runs from Piazza del Portello up to Castelletto for panoramic views — worth it at dusk.
