Genoa's lighthouse has guided ships into port since the 12th century — the current 117-metre tower dates from 1543. It's the city's most recognisable symbol, visible from the sea for over 50 kilometres. You can climb the lower section on weekends for sweeping views over the port and the entire coastline.
