Raccolte Frugone is one of Genoa's strongest reasons to continue east to Nervi. Housed in Villa Grimaldi Fassio within the Nervi parks, the museum displays the Frugone brothers' collection of 19th- and early-20th-century painting and sculpture, with a particular strength in Italian works of the period.
The setting matters almost as much as the art. A visit can be folded into the Nervi cliff walk and park circuit, turning it into a half-day of sea views, villas, gardens, and museum rooms rather than a single isolated gallery stop. For Genoa visitors who have already seen the Strade Nuove palaces, it shows a very different face of the city's collecting culture.
