Villa del Principe, also known as Palazzo di Andrea Doria, is one of Genoa's great noble residences. Built for the admiral Andrea Doria, it sits near Piazza Principe and preserves the feel of a Renaissance court just outside the old city walls.
Inside, the draw is the combination of frescoed rooms, tapestries, garden views, and the political story of a family that mattered far beyond Genoa. It is a strong museum choice if you have already done the aquarium and the caruggi and want the city's aristocratic side.
