Abbey Church of Santa Maria Assunta

13th-century church with gilded interior and works by della Robbia

Built in the thirteenth century, the abbey's plain exterior gives little hint of what lies inside. The interior is richly decorated with gold gilding that catches the natural light beautifully. Art lovers will find works from suppressed religious orders, including Giovanni Battista Casoni's Multiplication of Bread and Andrea della Robbia's Incoronation of the Virgin.
