Eataly Lingotto

The original Eataly, opened in 2007 in a converted Carpano vermouth factory next to the Lingotto. The idea — a giant Italian food hall combining a market, half a dozen small restaurants, and producer talks — has since been exported worldwide, but the Turin store is still the best of them: bigger, less polished, and with the deepest selection of Piedmontese specialities.

Eat at the pasta counter, the fish counter, the cheese counter, the salumi counter, or any of the more formal restaurants on the upper floor. Buy a bottle of Barolo to take home. Combine with a visit to the rooftop test track and Pinacoteca Agnelli at the Lingotto, ten minutes' walk north.
