By air. Brindisi Airport (BDS), also called Salento Airport, is 6 km north of the city centre. It handles flights from Rome, Milan, and several northern European cities, with Ryanair and other low-cost carriers making it a practical entry point for the Salento region. A taxi into town takes around 15 minutes; local buses run less frequently but are much cheaper.
By train. Brindisi railway station sits at the southern end of the main Adriatic line. Trains run regularly to Lecce (40 minutes), Bari (1.5 hours), and Naples (4–5 hours). For Rome, there are direct InterCity services taking around 5–6 hours, or faster connections via Bari. The station is a short walk from the ferry terminal.
By ferry. The port is the main reason most people come to Brindisi. Grimaldi Lines, Grimaldi Euromed, and other operators run regular crossings to Igoumenitsa and Patras in Greece, and to Vlora and Durres in Albania. Departure times and booking offices are along the Corso Garibaldi near the waterfront. Services run year-round but are far more frequent from June to September.
