Isola Bianca Ferry Terminal

Olbia's main ferry port connecting Sardinia to mainland Italy

The Isola Bianca terminal is Olbia's main ferry port, sitting on a small island connected to the city by a causeway about 2km from the city centre. Multiple ferry companies — Grimaldi, GNV, Tirrenia, and Corsica Sardinia Ferries — operate from here to Civitavecchia (near Rome), Genova, and Livorno. Crossing times range from about 6 hours on the fastest daytime services to 14 hours overnight.

The terminal is functional rather than charming, with a large parking area used by families loading up cars for the Sardinian summer. In July and August the queues for check-in can stretch back onto the causeway, so arriving early is advisable. Taxis and some bus services connect the terminal to the city centre; the walk takes about 30 minutes along the waterfront promenade.
