Olbia Railway Station

The end of the line from Cagliari, and a starting point for the Sardinian rail network

Olbia's railway station sits at the southern end of Corso Umberto and handles trains on the mainline from Cagliari and Sassari. Services are run by Trenitalia on standard gauge track; the journey from Cagliari takes around three and a half hours. Connections to the north of the island are limited, making the station more useful for arrivals from the south and for onward travel to Sassari.

The station building dates from the 20th century and is unremarkable architecturally, but its position at the head of the main shopping street makes orientation easy. Car rental offices are clustered nearby, which suits the many ferry passengers who prefer to collect a car here rather than at the port terminal.
