Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport

The main airport for northeastern Sardinia, 3km south of the city centre

Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport (IATA: OLB) is the primary gateway for northeastern Sardinia and the Costa Smeralda. The airport is small but handles a large volume of seasonal traffic, particularly in July and August when charter flights from Northern Europe supplement the scheduled services. Ryanair, easyJet, Alitalia/ITA Airways, and various charter operators serve the airport.

The airport sits about 3km south of the city centre. City buses 2 and 10 run to the centre in roughly 15 minutes; taxis are readily available at the terminal. Car hire is the usual choice for most visitors since the Costa Smeralda and the wider Gallura region are difficult to explore without one. The terminal is compact enough that transit is straightforward even in summer.
