Getting There

Palermo's airport, Falcone-Borsellino, handles national and European flights. The Prestia e Comande bus runs every 30 minutes to the city centre. A taxi costs around 40 euros.

By train, all services arrive at Stazione Centrale at the southern end of Via Roma, well connected to the rest of the city by bus. By ferry, services from Naples and other ports dock at the Stazione Marittima, a ten-minute walk up Via Amari to Piazza Castelnuovo. Driving in Palermo is not recommended unless you enjoy chaos and have a talent for creative parking.
