A pair of small coves on either side of the headland that ends in the Arco dell'Elefante. Cala Levante faces east and is sheltered from the prevailing north-west wind; Cala Tramontana faces north and catches the same wind head-on. Together they cover both halves of the weather, which means there is almost always a calm side to swim from.
Both are reached by a steep walk down from the parking area above. The water in Cala Levante is famously turquoise, with a sandy patch among the lava blocks and very good snorkelling along the outer wall. There are no facilities; bring your own water and shade.
