One of the largest and most famous markets on the Tuscan coast, held every Wednesday morning along Viale Italico and the surrounding streets in the centre of town. At the peak of summer it draws thousands of visitors from the villas and beach clubs of the whole Versilia coast. The stalls sell everything from local produce and Ligurian cheese to fashion, leather goods, and the kind of high-quality summer clothing that this stretch of coast has always specialised in. Arrive early — by 10am it is packed, and the best stalls sell out. Parking nearby is almost impossible; arrive on foot or by bicycle.
