Viareggio's café scene is anchored by the Liberty-era pavilions on the Passeggiata. The Gran Caffè Margherita is the landmark, but there are plenty of smaller bars and gelaterie along the promenade and in the streets behind it. In summer the beach establishments serve drinks until late.
